A SOULFUL SUMMER JOURNEY FOR WOMEN

TRAVELING SOLO - TOGETHER

Explore Iceland under endless summer light, with a small group of like-minded women and a local female guide who knows the land deeply.

This is Iceland at its most alive: green landscapes, open roads, volcanic islands, glaciers, hot springs, and days that seem to stretch forever.

Travel solo.
Feel supported.
Come home changed.

Group Max. 12 women

A different way of traveling

— especially when you’re traveling solo

This is not a fast-paced tour, and it’s not about checking Iceland off a list.

This journey was designed specifically for women who want to travel solo without having to carry everything on their shoulders — the planning, the logistics, the decisions.

From the very first day, everything is taken care of.

You’ll travel with a private guide, carefully selected accommodations, and a small group of women who are in a similar place in life.

There’s space for conversation.
There’s space for silence.
And there’s space for you to simply enjoy Iceland — without rushing, without proving anything, without feeling alone.

Guided by Local Women

A journey through Iceland for women, organized and guided by expert local women.

We believe it matters who leads the journey. That’s why this trip is guided by a local woman who knows Iceland beyond the surface — its rhythms, its quieter places, and the stories that don’t appear on maps.

This shared wisdom creates something powerful:
a sense of trust, ease, and genuine connection among women traveling together.

Beyond the Typical

Iceland is no longer a hidden destination — but how you experience it still matters.

Our summer itinerary is designed to move away from the busiest routes whenever possible, weaving together iconic landscapes with lesser-visited places, private experiences, and flexible pacing.

You won’t feel herded from stop to stop.
You’ll feel guided — with intention.

Endless Light & Living Landscapes

In August, Iceland reveals a different kind of magic.

The days are long, the landscapes are green and alive, and the country feels wide open. You’ll cross volcanic plains, sail to remote islands, explore dramatic canyons and glaciers, soak in natural hot springs, and walk black sand beaches — all under the soft glow of the midnight sun.

ice cave 2.png

Exploring Iceland in summer is like stepping into a land that’s fully awake.
Every step brings you closer to nature in its most expansive, vibrant form.

These are just some of the experiences we’ll share in Iceland.
Take a moment — and imagine yourself there…

LuxuryTour01.webp

A PRIVATE GLACIER LAGOON EXPERIENCE

A moment very few travelers ever experience.

You’ll board a private luxury zodiac boat and glide across the Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, surrounded by towering ice formations and deep silence. We’ll step onto a remote island, raise a glass of champagne, and take in a landscape that feels almost untouched.

This isn’t sightseeing.
It’s presence — rare, quiet, unforgettable.

michael-blum-5MOScwaoYXM-unsplash.jpg

WHERE PUFFINS NEST:
THE VOLCANIC WESTMAN ISLANDS

These volcanic islands rise dramatically from the sea and tell powerful stories of resilience, eruptions, and life shaped by nature. In summer, the islands are alive — seabirds, cliffs, ocean light — yet still wonderfully unspoiled.

It’s one of Iceland’s most surprising regions.

todd-cravens-QnBrjY-nFUs-unsplash.jpg

WHALE WATCHING IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC

Seeing whales in the wild is humbling — and deeply moving.

We’ll head out into the North Atlantic with experienced local guides, searching for whales in their natural habitat.

There’s no script, no guarantees — just respect, patience, and the thrill of witnessing nature on its own terms.

When it happens, it stays with you.

DSC_0956 (1).jpg

TIME & CONNECTION WITH LOCALS

This is the kind of experience most tours never offer.

We’ll visit a family-run Icelandic Goat Farm, where we’ll learn about one of the country’s oldest and rarest breeds, rural life in Iceland, and the quiet work of preserving tradition.

We’ll also be welcomed into the home of local friends for a home-cooked dinner, sharing stories around the table as if we were visiting old acquaintances. No restaurant. No set menu. Just good food, warm conversation, and the rare feeling of being invited in.

Moments like this don’t feel like tourism.
They feel like connection.

20251020_210441_2C0AF3.JPEG

HOT SPRINGS
OFF THE BEATEN PATH

Yes, Iceland has famous hot springs.
And yes — we intentionally avoid the  crowded ones.

Instead, you’ll soak in lesser-known thermal baths, surrounded by wild landscapes where warm water meets open air and time seems to stretch. These are places locals love, and mass tourism hasn’t taken over.

Quiet. Grounding. Deeply Icelandic.

rolf-gelpke-XruNkneD16E-unsplash.jpg

GLACIERS & ICE LAGOONS

Standing in front of a glacier changes something inside you.

You’ll experience Iceland’s glacial world from different perspectives — walking nearby, watching icebergs drift silently across a lagoon, and feeling the scale and stillness of these ancient landscapes.

Day 1:
Sæll!
(Hello women!),

You land in Iceland and everything starts softly.

No rushing. No information overload. Just the feeling of being here.

We’ll explore Reykjavík through its flavors, stopping at local spots that tell stories of the city and its people. This is how we break the ice — food, conversation, laughter.

In the evening, we sit down together for our welcome dinner. At first, everyone is a stranger. By the end of the night, something has already shifted.

Daily inclusions: Local guide, tour leader, breakfast, food tour, and accommodation at Hotel Reykjavík Saga 4*.

I just returned from my trip to Iceland with The Women Travel Co., and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Visiting Iceland has been on my bucket list for years, and this trip fulfilled everything I hoped for—and more.

From the moment we arrived, Aina made sure everything was taken care of, so I didn’t have to stress about the small details of getting from place to place. That level of organization allowed me to fully immerse myself in the experience, take in the breathtaking landscapes, and truly enjoy the journey.

Beyond the incredible sights, this trip gave me something unexpected—a shift in perspective. It helped me step back, reset, and see life differently. I’m so grateful I took this adventure, and I highly recommend The Women Travel Co. to anyone looking for a well-planned, stress-free, and truly transformative travel experience.

Truly the best trip I’ve ever taken. Booking with The Women Travel Co. was by far the easiest travel experience I’ve ever had.

Not a single detail was missed — I felt safe and cared for, like how I imagine celebs feel when they travel!

Every moment was designed with intention. Aina was a fantastic host and always there if we needed anything.

Aina is exceptional at what she does. I couldn’t plan a trip like that even with an unlimited budget. She has a true gift for designing phenomenal experiences, and I feel so lucky I got to join the Iceland trip. I will join not only India in 2025, but also Iceland in summer, Spain, Tanzania and more in 2026.

It’s not just about the destination, it’s the whole experience. Meaningful, intentional travel that lets you live a culture from the inside. I now look no further than where The Women Travel Co. is heading next.”

One of the most valuable things I learned was that I can be happy once more. I would absolutely contemplate traveling with them again.

It was an incredible experience, where I felt a renewed sense of freedom, relaxation, and optimism for the future.

Christina Eckhoff

I loved all of it!

Relaxed structure, there was enough to do and I always felt included but never pressured.

Besides the normal vaca refresh, I took a lot of beautiful experiences and I appreciate that we spent time checking in

Michelle De Traglia

I had many great learning experiences and the organizers did a fantastic job of bringing everything together to create special memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you.

Would you like to be here and experience the magic of Iceland? Stop imagining, it can be real now.

"No man is more complete than the one who has traveled extensively, who has changed his way of thinking and living twenty times."

–Alphonse Lamartine, writer, poet, and politician

Requirements to join our trip:

pensamiento-positivo.png

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

We’re here to have a great time. Your energy impacts the group, so we want people ready to have fun, who understand the importance of teamwork, and who are open to making new friends.

mente-abierta.png

FLEXIBILITY

Nothing is permanent, everything changes, and you need to be open to the unexpected. We’re looking for people who understand that both the planned and unplanned moments will add magic to our trip. Are you coming with an open mind?

autonomia.png

AUTONOMY

Both our local guide, Karen, and the tour leader will be there for anything you need, and our goal is to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. That said, we’re looking for autonomous women who understand that we’re all part of the group. There’s no "staff" on this trip—no one will be carrying anyone else’s bags.

Exploring Iceland with The Women Travel Co was an intimately curated experience. Aina connects with local women and gives a more authentic view of Icelandic culture. Starting with our local driver of a luxury van to photographer to excursion in local farm house-all was carefully planned and thought out to give the woman tourist an original experience.

Travelers are even interviewed to make sure they will mesh with the group and have similar expectations of the trip. All the women got along seamlessly and there wasn't anyone affecting the group negatively! As a person who plans and studies all the travel itineraries, I enjoyed just going along for the ride as everything was carefully scheduled and kept on track for excursions and even down time ( soaking in two volcanic hot springs).

Iceland's landscapes were more beautiful that I'd imagined and I may even be outdoorsy now - despite the rugged landscapes, hiking and cold weather, this was a trip of comfort. The transportation was seamless and private for just our individual group. Don't wait for everyone else to travel! I'm glad to have found this travel co to travel with like minded solo women who want to see the world by having a small more individual experience.

Aina made sure everyone was comfortable and each day was carefully planned.

This experience has changed how I travel and plan to from now on!

Ashley Massey

This trip was absolutely the most wonderful, thought-out trip I have ever been on. Every single detail was carefully planned and thought out. Every excursion was fun and magical in its own way.

The itinerary was seamless, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the Icelandic culture and natural beauty. From the comfortable accommodations to the knowledgeable guides, everything contributed to an unforgettable experience.

I highly recommend this expedition to anyone seeking a well-organized and enriching travel adventure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to get a visa for Iceland?

As of 2024, Icelandic citizens can travel to 185 countries and territories without a visa or with visa-on-arrival for up to 90 days. Please check official sources to confirm your passport's eligibility before planning your trip.

What's included in the trip?

Almost everything is included in the price of this trip, so you won’t need to spend much extra money. However, we’ve left some flexibility in the meal plans to give you the freedom to choose. While some lunches and most dinners will be your responsibility, you'll have plenty of options to explore local cuisine. Alcoholic beverages, gratuities (although tipping is not customary in Iceland), and personal expenses like souvenirs or massages at the hot springs are not included. Please check the "Inclusions" section for a detailed day-by-day breakdown.

Can you adapt to vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free diets?

The trip will cater to all food allergies and dietary requirements.

How fit do I need to be for this trip?

This trip does not require any minimum level of fitness and all almost all conditions are welcome. However, while the trip isn't overly strenuous, you should be in good physical shape to stay active for several hours a day, walk, and move with some agility. If you have any special conditions, please inform us, and we'll see if we can adapt the experience for you.

Can I have a room to myself?

All prices shown are per person in a twin shared room with another female traveler. If you prefer more privacy and a private room, you should choose the "private room" option.

I want to bring my partner on the trip. Can I?

This is actually a small group trip specifically designed for women traveling on their own. However, if you'd like to bring a female friend, partner, or family member, they are absolutely welcome! Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate male travelers on our trips.

I want to bring my daughter. Can I?

If your daughter is above the age of 18, we would be thrilled to have her join us.

How Does This Trip Benefit the Locals?

We don't work with intermediaries. Instead, we directly hire guides, book hotels, and arrange activities. This means 100% of your investment goes straight to the people who make this trip possible and ensure its success.

What should I pack for this adventure?

August is one of the mildest and most comfortable months to visit Iceland, with long days and generally moderate temperatures. During our pre-trip video call, we’ll go over packing in detail, but in general you’ll want comfortable walking shoes, layered clothing, and a light waterproof jacket to protect against wind or occasional rain. Iceland’s weather can change quickly — even in summer — so flexibility is key. If you prefer to travel lighter, outdoor clothing can be rented locally, and we’ll help you organize this if needed.

What happens if I get sick?

We understand that getting sick while traveling alone in a foreign country can be worrisome. That's why we require all our guests to have comprehensive travel and medical insurance that includes international evacuation. In the unlikely event that you fall sick during the trip, we will take you to the nearest medical facility so you can receive the necessary care. Additionally, one of our local partner staff will be there to assist you with translations and anything else you may need.

What travel and medical insurance should I get?

When travelling to Iceland, ensuring you have comprehensive travel and medical insurance is absolutely essential. Double-check that your policy has your back for any unexpected twists and turns during your Icelandic adventure! We recommend that you book your insurance at the same time as you pay in full and after the trip is confirmed by reaching the minimum number of participants.

What Airport do I fly into?

You will fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF), the main international airport in Iceland. One of the best parts about this adventure is how incredibly easy it is to get to Iceland. Whether you come from US or EU. For example, the flight duration from the United States to Iceland varies depending on your departure city. Typically, a direct flight from New York City to Keflavík International Airport (KEF) takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. From the West Coast, flights generally take between 8 to 9 hours.
